Another BIG Day!

Sound the trumpets! Praise Jesus! It's finally happened... Wil can sit in his bathtub!
I don't know why he always looks so shocked to see me with my silly, blue camera. You'd think he'd be use to it by now, but this is always the face I capture (right BEFORE a smile). Oh well. That's Wil - focused and intrigued.

As many of you already know, Wil LOVES his baths. I really think he could sit in there for hours. He enjoys watching the water fall from the faucet and chewing on a wash cloth. He enjoys kicking his feet and splashing about. But he REALLY enjoys playing with his toys, however, they sure are hard to reach when you're in a reclined position. So, being the good Mommy that I am, I have spent the last couple of months holding on to Wil's head, armpits, wrists, butt.... anything I can grab onto.... to keep him in an upright position, which can really do a number on ones back! Today was the day though folks. He sat all by himself.
Aaaahhhh, success!

Day Care...

It was with mixed feelings that I took Wil to his first "official" day of DayCare today. Part of me was happy to get back to work. Start a new school year. See my work friends. The teacher in me also knows how important quality day care can be for a kid, you know, all that socialization and stimulation. Not to mention the importance of 'forcing' my child to be comfortable with people other than myself and his Daddy. However, the thought of leaving MY child with strangers for an entire day, check that, an entire school year was painfully difficult.

So, this morning I woke up at 4:45 (just to get myself ready) and woke my little bean up at 5:20! Neither of us are morning people, so this was difficult. We left the house by 5:45, on our way to LaPetite Academy in Verona.
(Yes. I took a picture of the front door for keepsake. My organization and extreme punctuality made us early. We arrived 10 minutes before the place even opened... what else was I suppose to do? Notice the sun just beginning to rise.)

Of course, drop off was fine. Wil loves everyone! I did surprisingly well too! It wasn't until mid-way through my morning that I became a little sad. Just then I happened to open my email to find this from the school's director:
The subject on the email read "I am having a great day Mommy!"
Plus 1, check that, plus 1,000,000 points to LaPetite! Can she read my mind?

By the end of the day I realized we had made it. I went to pick up my baby and was met with a smiling boy! I found out that he had story time today, music and movement (whatever that means for a 5 month old) and loved playing at the floor gym. I also found out when he ate, slept and went potty (believe it or not) thanks to my "Infant Daily Record", which I will be presented with each day.

After a loooong drive home, some peas for dinner and a cozy bath...
my baby was TIRED! He even fell asleep without finishing his bottle!

Now, it is 7:30pm and I'm off to bed! I'm exhausted and need to do it all over again tomorrow. I don't even have any first graders yet - I can only imagine what I'll be feeling like after a full day of keeping up with them!

Long time... no blog!

The "Here's What's New" Edition
Bananas are Wil's new favorite food. As you can see!
Wil is now standing (with some support, of course). He can even stand on the floor up against the couch all by himself!
Wil can sit with no support. Well, his head is rather large (thanks to his father) so he tends to fall over rather quickly!
In other news... Wil is finally getting hair! Actual hair! It's still really blonde, so you have to be in the 'perfect' light to see it, but it's there!

5 Months Later...

Here with Daddy... the day he was born. March 20, 2010. (5lbs. 11oz.)

Big boy, nearly 5 months later (14lbs. 5oz.)! Shocking, isn't it? By the look on his face, Wil thinks so!

Adam, Wil, Gravel and I went on our first family vacation this week. We purchased a camper about a month ago and Adam has been waiting patiently to try it out... he finally got a full week of vacation from work, so we were on our way. We managed two nights and three full days! We had so much fun; we're planning another trip this weekend!

Wil did great! I knew he enjoyed roughin' it in the great outdoors (he's like his Daddy when it comes to ventures outside). I wasn't sure how he'd do in his new bed, though. He had his own bunkbed that we placed pillows around to keep him in one place. Luckily for us, Wil's a still sleeper! Of course, our little man slept for over 12 hours both nights!!! I told Adam, "vacation is meant for relaxing and sleeping in"!

Wil had a sleeping buddy too. We woke up to find Gravel next to Wil both nights...

We also spent time doing this.

Wil loved watching Adam play fetch with Gravel. He's really been into his dog lately!

Wil was a great Grill Master too! This picture just doesn't do him justice! Here he's asking his Dad to pass the tongs.

We had a great time together!

A penny for your thoughts...

Wil, shortly after eating a yummy breakfast consisting of cereal and peaches.
Ok, ok, I'll give you one Mom.

Really? Can I go play yet?

Ok. I'm done. You're not getting anymore! This is rediculous!

Good Day, Sunshine

More fun in the sun! Wil and I spend a lot of time on our deck in the afternoons. It's in the shade so we can be outside without melting! Wil sits in his Bumbo, plays with toys, but mostly likes to lay out on a blanket and stare at me!

I need to do laundry... clearly!

This was the ONLY thing left in Wil's closet today, so I HAD to put it on. Yuck! Take a good look Fontanas... this is your only glimpse of Wil as a Hawkeye fan.  :)  Go Bucky! HeeHeeHee
