No Daddy, No!

Adam thinks it would be the coolest thing in the world if Wil could WALK - probably because he's so small! I often find the two of them like this:
They practice and practice all the time; Gravel usually follows them around too. I try to tell Adam that Wil is going to walk soon enough. I, of course, would prefer that he stay 6 months old forever. I don't ever need him to crawl, walk, or even talk (with the exception of saying, "I LOVE MY MOMMY"). Is this normal?

Brrrr...

It's getting chilly here in Wisconsin, but don't worry, we're ready! I've had this hat and mitten set since Wil was born - along with an adorable snowsuit, but that was jumpin' the gun just a bit - it was only 50 degrees. Adam wondered if he was big enough, "of course", I said. "His head is HUGE"! As usual, Wil was all for it and smiled for the camera! (You'd think he'd be sick of me by now)!

P.S. Thanks for all of the support friends... I really needed it. It's hard dealing with something like this on your own.

1/2 Old!

Wil is 6 months old today and it has been by far the BEST 6 months of my life! I can't believe my little man is growing up... I wish he could stay small forever, well sometimes. He is becoming so much fun and life is getting easier each and every day.

He can sit on his own. He loves to bounce in his jumperoo (I can't believe I first put him in that at only 10 weeks). He sleeps from 7pm-5am every night. He loves cereal, applesauce, bananas, peas, and carrots (just to name a few). He smiles at everyone and everything and he's just now starting to giggle, which has quickly become my most favorite sound in the world.

We went to the doctor today to find out the inevitable... he's still small (in the 18th percentile for both height and weight), but he is growing wonderfully considering where he came from (5 lbs. 7 oz. at his smallest)! He does, however, have a rather large head, which we already knew as well! :)
Here are the stats:
Weight: 15lbs. 9 oz.
Height: 25.5 inches

New Tricks!

Check out this sweet move my Dad invented. That's me sitting in his hand! I'm really good at balancing!

We think it's fun! Did you know I use to be sooo small that I could almost fit in the palm of his hands!?!

Yep! That's me a long time ago. I was only 5 1/2 pounds in this picture... I couldn't do anything then!
Mommy can't believe how much I've grown!

Vintage Bibs

Wil. Wearing 23-year-old Oshkosh bibs that belonged to my brother. Apparently my Mom just couldn't get rid of them. We love them, can't you tell! Thanks Uncle Tony!

Saturday Morning Play Time!

Saturday mornings at 6:00am are looking quite different for Wil! They're pretty great for me too! This morning while Wil played with his toys and watched Mickey Mouse CloubHouse, I was able to clean my house AND do two loads of laundry! I love my Baby!
I may have a tendancy to completely over-stimulate the poor guy... I just love that he can "play" all by himself!

What a Weekend!

We've had an eventful weekend here at the Geurts'. First, a not so pleasant conversation with our horrible, ex-day care provider (again)...ugh! And then this...

which caused this:

The best part about our family is we try our hardest to make the tough times sweet, which is always possible because of this little man.

And his new best friend!

We try our best to limit interactions similar to the following to only once per playtime! Gravel loves Wil so much, he could just eat him up! I know the feeling doggy!
Life is still good!
