Daddy Love

Wil's a Daddy's boy... have you heard? Adam's been working A TON lately, which means the little man's been spending quite a lot of time with his Momma. We have loads of fun together (story time at the library, playdates with Lana, Molly & Ella, lunch with Pammie, swimming, park visits, and the list goes on), but when Daddy gets home - it's all over. Usually they play non-stop, but last night, Wil was too tuckered out. So, this happened instead:
Daddy was tired too.
P.S. Wil would NEVER do this with me.

our latest obsession!

Mmm... Carrot!

I've been attempting to feed my child something other than crackers for snack. He's a fan of all fruits & yesterday, noticed his dad munching on a few carrots. Wil wanted to try some, but found them a bit too hard for his chompers to get through. Mommy to the rescue! Today, while Wil took his nap, I boiled some carrots (just a little bit). They were just soft enough & just in time for snack! Wil LOVED them... all 5 of them! Now I can add carrots to his growing list of favorite "cooked" veggies.

Spoon, Glorious Spoon!

Wil's all about doin' it himself these days!
Particularly when it comes to eating yogurt.
This "I want to feed myself" attitude has tried my patience & obsessive issues with cleanliness, but seeing his face when he actually gets that spoon in his mouth is priceless... so, I give.
Wouldn't you? Now. Bath Time! I have no other choice.

Camping Trip #1

We had our first camping trip of the year last weekend. Wil enjoyed playing in the sand by the water. He must have filled that bucket with wet sand 3 or 4 times, which takes a while when you're only one!
It was H-O-T... so we were in luck when Grandma Geurts brought out some of Adam's old matchbox cars. They kept Wil happy under a shade tree for long periods of time.

I've noticed that it's really hard to convince my "toddler" to stay in one place. He could care less about sunburns & high temperatures. This red blanket was like a target for Wil, every once and a while he'd crash here to play for a while.

H2O Baby

He takes after his Momma! YES!
Our first trip to the Dells... 90 degrees & sunny! Pardon the dorky, blue bonnet-thingy. He's just so darn bald! It's suppose to be for boys, I guess.
Wil "swam" for 4 straight hours. I applied sunscreen to his ENTIRE body twice - even the parts covered by shorts, long-sleeved shirts, and hats. Adam thought I was nuts. It's a Mom thing, I guess. I knew what a sunburn would mean at bedtime. BAAAAD News!
We did hit a wall, eventually. Again, I'm always thinkin'. I brought that silly ol' Nuk. It saved us for an hour while Wil slept under an umbrella. Good times! I can't wait for more swimming days.
